The ESF Community Grants Project distributes small grants of up to £20,000 to Third Sector Organisations to provide support to unemployed and inactive individuals to engage them and move them towards employment through packages of training and support.
The project is funded through the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) & European Social Fund (ESF) financing organisation. We are pleased to announce we have been awarded the contract to deliver LA6 Community Grants from November 2021 to March 2023 in partnership with the 6 Local Authorities across Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
The combined contract value is £750k, which we will award in small grants (up to £20k) to Third Sector organisations (voluntary, community, registered charities, social enterprises, mutual and co-operatives) to deliver small projects that mobilise disadvantaged or excluded individuals to enable their progress towards further education and employment. In November 2021, we delivered 4 live webinars, where organisations who were interested in applying to this project could book tickets to find out more about the project aims and expected outcomes, finance available, application and marking criteria, and have the chance to ask any questions. The application window opened on Monday 15th November and closed on Friday 10th December. Successful Organisations were notified on Friday 7th January 2022.
